Welcome to the City of Tool, "A Community on the Move"

The City of Tool is a Type “A” General Law municipality consisting of a Mayor and five City Council members. Regular City Council meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm at the Oran White Civic. See the City of Tool Calendar (Link) to view all regularly scheduled meetings.

The City of Tool borders the beautiful East Texas lake with about 14.5 miles of shore line. This beautiful lake area offers majestic views, ideal fishing atmospheres, relaxing ambiance, and breath taking sunsets. The City of Tool is the third largest City in Henderson County with a population of 2,275 as of the 2000 census..

"THE CITY OF TOOL ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE." AND "THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.08 PERCENT AND WILL LOWER TAXES FOR MAINENTANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATLEY $.04."
